Bio
Heather Smith is an African American woman living abroad and discovering her freedom.
She was born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago but she never quite felt like it was home. So, she moved to California and settled there, in every sense of the word. She felt unhappy and trapped in California, both in a dead-end job and dead marriage. So, after a few tries in other places, I finally decided on her newest adventure. Cambodia.
She has lived in Cambodia since 2017 and has been working full-time as a teacher. Heather has a stable career, a comfortable home life, and a significant other who she met in her new home. In her downtime, she is also a well-known TikTok creator in Cambodia. Heather creates content that is aimed towards Khmer people and in the Khmer language taking part in their culture using respectful appreciation.
Taking this huge step towards real freedom from the corporate hamster wheel and being able to just breathe and be free has been life-changing for her. And then add in tropical weather and access to some of the most beautiful places on Earth and you have her life. Right now!
